Dr. Stacey Miller is co-founder and managing partner for the Consortium for Inclusion and Equity (CIE), LLC a consulting firm that specializes in integrated diversity education, leadership development, and restorative practices. CIE is a true consortium and partners with colleagues and consultancies nationally and internationally to develop dynamic and customized content that is organizationally specific and relevant to their client’s needs.
Prior to her full-time work with CIE, she spent 29 years in higher education formerly serving as the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion and Director for the John Lewis Institute for Social Justice at Central Connecticut State University, the Associate Provost for Inclusion and Equity at Valparaiso University, and the Director of Residential Life for the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Vermont (UVM); positions she held from 2003 to 2022.
She is nationally recognized for her educational workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion, leadership development, and affirmative recruitment of staff. She is also sought out for her knowledge and expertise in the use of Restorative Practices in collegiate residential settings. During her time as an administrator, she was afforded time away to serve as the Assistant Executive Dean (Spring 2019) and Dean of Students (Summer 2013) for the Institute for Shipboard Education’s Semester at Sea program, which is currently hosted by Colorado State University.
Stacey received her Doctor of Education in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Stony Brook University. She also served as the former Chair to the Board of Trustees for the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) Graduate School in Bethlehem, PA.
Stacey loves to travel and has had the opportunity to visit 36 of 50 US States and over 28 countries during her life. She currently lives in the great state of Vermont and is the proud parent of four children, her son Jelani, her nephew Bryan, her daughter Taylor and her niece Samantha.
